10 Best Tomb Raider Crossovers

Exploring the Best Crossovers with Tomb Raider

Lara Croft, the iconic adventurer from the Tomb Raider series, has been a staple in the gaming world for over two decades. Her fearless spirit and knack for uncovering ancient secrets have not only made her a beloved character in her own right but also a sought-after guest star in various other games. From battling it out in the chaotic arenas of Fortnite to surviving the horrors of Dead by Daylight, Lara’s crossovers have brought a unique blend of action and adventure to many gaming universes. With her all new arrival in one of our beloved favorites, Naraka Bladepoint, we thought it would be fun to celebrate her arrival in Naraka, if we reminisced on previous crossovers; as Lara sure has been in a lot of them!

What is incredible about this list is it reminded me of the power of crossovers. Crossovers have the real power to encourage gamers to try a game they haven't played before. There are several games on this list...that I had never touched until the Tomb Raider cross over was announced. That is the power of a character, who has such a loyal fandom that we will try new games just for them.

Another benefit of crossovers is it helps keep a fandom alive during long stretches between games. The Tomb Raider community is really hungry for a new Tomb Raider game. It has been 6 years since the last Tomb Raider game at the time of this writing. It is hard to keep an active fandom alive during these stretches, and having so many cross overs is a great way to give the fandom something to talk about, inspire fan art, inspire virtual photography, etc...

10. Fall Guys

I still remember when Fall Guys released. It was the middle of the Pandemic. The Last of Us Part 2 and its dark, gritty, and depressing story was what I working on playing when stuck at home. Fall Guys came out of no where with this pretty, hilarious, and goofy gameplay. It made me laugh. It was a bright and jarring different game from what had captured so much of my attention with TLOU2. When Lara Croft was announced for Fall Guys...it was a hilarious and unexpected cross over for Tomb Raider fans.

9. Magic the Gathering

Magic the Gathering is a massive game that enticed fans of Tomb Raider with some incredible artwork for the cross over, and it is an incredible piece worthy of a cover art.

8.Power Wash Simulator

The only one on this list where Lara doesn't actually show up for her Tomb Raider crossover...with Power Wash Simulator bringing Croft Manor to this fun and relaxing sim.

7. The Walking Dead Survivors

I'm not a big fan of these types of mobile games. However, when news broke across the Tomb Raider fandom that Lara was getting another crossover, it was worth checking out. The art in this crossover was another fantastic piece.

6. Hero Wars

Hero Wars delivered a fantastic Lara Croft with incredible art and design.

5 Brawlhalla

Brawlhalla is one that I really enjoyed it's Lara crossover. They design of Lara in this world is super fun. It's different from what we normally see. For those who don't know Brawlhalla is a Super Smash style fighter game that just fits Lara perfectly.

4. Final Fantasy

Lara has actually had mutliple specific crossovers within Final Fantasy, but our favorite has got to be the art created for WOTV FFBE. To this day, the anime style Lara Croft is my favorite official image of Lara Croft. They made this incredible official artwork for the crossover, and it is honestly far too good for some promotional art for a crossover in a mobile game. This anime Lara variant art should get an anime or game set in this art style. Forget the incredible pixel Lara, or the FF13 Lara clothes; the anime style Lara is next level and needs to be revisited.

3. Dead by Daylight - Gi Plays

Lara Croft is the crossover that finally got me to try Dead by Daylight. I hadn't gotten around to trying this game. It isn't my typical go-to genre. But the opportunity to play as Survivor Lara in a new setting was an opportunity a good Tomb Raider fan like me, couldn't pass up.

2. Call of Duty

Call of Duty is one of the controversial games...where some long time fans HATE how much COD has copied the number one spot on this list and become a hub for crossovers. Some may prefer old school COD. Others love that Call of Duty has brought many of favorite characters to it's multiplayer. Regardless of what you think of COD, for Tomb Raider fans...the COD crossover was special. This wasn't an appearance of classic or survivor Lara. This was weirdly enough...the first in-game debut of a new Lara Design. Unified Lara that has been teased in official arts or statues...is this new Lara design that hasn't gotten an actual game yet. This was the Lara we got in COD, and she looks amazing. The promo art version got some criticism, but the in-game character model ended up looking great.

1. Fortnite

The Crossover. THE CROSS OVER OF CROSSOVERS. Fortnite isn't just the obvious number one, it is the game that really put crossovers on the mainstream map. Where for other games, crossovers are major events that are special, Fortnite made big cross overs just another Tuesday. Fortnite has more crossovers than any other game and it's not even close. It has reached such heights that its actually weird if a chracter HASN'T appeared in Fortnite yet. Fortnite's immortal popularity brought about the trend of massive crossover events, and we have this game to thank for crossovers. I doubt we would be getting lara in Naraka or COD if Fortnite hadn't made the Ready Player One style universe that is Fortnite.
